How to Set Up Your Wi-Fi Timer (Sonoff) with eWeLink

This guide helps you pair your timer, activate Inching mode, and set up scheduled feeding.

Step 1: Pairing the Device

  • Plug in your Wi-Fi timer. If the LED is not blinking fast, hold the button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  • Open the eWeLink App (available on Android and iOS).
  • Tap the “+” button and choose Quick Pairing (Touch).
  • Connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
  • Wait for the device to pair, then name it (e.g., “Feeder Timer”).

Step 2: Enable Inching Mode

  • In the eWeLink app, tap on your connected device.
  • Click the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner.
  • Scroll to find and enable Inching.
  • Set the inching time (e.g., 1–3 seconds).
  • Save the configuration. The timer will now turn off automatically after activation.

Step 3: Schedule Automatic Feeding

  • Open your device and tap on “Schedule”.
  • Tap “+” to add a new schedule.
  • Select the time you want the feeder to trigger (e.g., 07:00 AM).
  • Set it to repeat daily or on selected days.
  • Choose ON as the action — Inching will turn it off automatically.
  • You can add multiple times per day (morning, afternoon, etc.).

Tips

  • Make sure your Wi-Fi signal is strong where the device is installed.
  • If pairing fails, reset and try again by holding the button for 5–7 seconds.
  • Keep your eWeLink app and firmware up to date.

Alternative Pairing: Compatible Pairing Mode (AP Mode)

  • Hold the button for about 5–7 seconds until the LED blinks slowly (once every 2 seconds).
  • Open the eWeLink app and tap the “+” button.
  • Select Compatible Pairing (AP Mode) from the bottom.
  • Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password and tap "Next".
  • Connect to the temporary Wi-Fi that starts with Itead-XXXXX in your phone's Wi-Fi settings.
  • Return to the app to finish pairing. It may take up to 2 minutes.
  • Once complete, name your device and proceed with setup.

How to Set Up Your Wi-Fi Timer with Smart Life

Step-by-step guide to pair your smart timer, enable pulse (inching), and schedule feeding times.

Step 1: Install the Smart Life App

Step 2: Prepare the Device for Pairing

  • Plug in the Wi-Fi timer.
  • Press and hold the button for about 5–6 seconds until the LED starts blinking rapidly (EZ Mode).
  • If it blinks slowly, switch to AP Mode during setup in the app.

Step 3: Pair the Device

  • Open the Smart Life app and tap the “+” icon or “Add Device”.
  • Select “Socket (Wi-Fi)” or “Switch”, depending on your device.
  • Connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
  • Confirm the LED is blinking and tap “Next”.
  • Wait for the pairing process to complete, then give your device a name (e.g., “Feeder Timer”).
  • If pairing fails, try again using AP Mode by tapping “EZ Mode” in the top corner and switching modes.

Step 4: Enable Pulse (Inching) Mode

  • Go to your device in the Smart Life app.
  • Tap the settings gear icon or pencil icon.
  • Select “Relay Status” or “Inching Settings” depending on your firmware version.
  • Enable Pulse Mode (or “Inching”).
  • Set the time (e.g., 1 second).
  • Tap Save to confirm. Now, the feeder will activate only briefly when triggered.

Step 5: Schedule Feeding Times

  • From the device screen, tap “Timer” or “Schedule”.
  • Tap the “+” icon to create a new timer.
  • Set the time and select the days of the week (e.g., every day at 7:00 AM).
  • Choose the action: Switch ON.
  • Save. The inching mode will turn it OFF automatically after triggering.
  • You can create multiple schedules (morning, evening, etc.).

Tips

  • Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz network (not 5GHz).
  • Place your device in a location with strong Wi-Fi signal.
  • Use AP Mode if EZ Mode fails to connect.
  • Update the Smart Life app and your device firmware regularly.
